The caring, knowledgeable staff plans fun activities in the areas of math, art, circle, science, sensory, fine motor and gross motor that promote learning opportunities for the children. My World of Learning Child Care Association's philosophy is to offer a safe, nurturing learning environment in which each child can prepare for the years ahead. My World of Learning is located on the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) – Truro Campus in the secure residence building, Davis Hall. There is a Supported Child Care Teacher to provide extra support to the classrooms so all children can participate fully in the daily program. The programming promotes the children's growth and development through play and theme-based activities. The day care has three classrooms with two teachers in each classroom. Field trips are planned based on themes and offer hands-on learning and exposure. The day care accepts children who have portable subsidy seats. My World of Learning is licensed to care for 40 children between the ages of 18 months to 5 years. Children have an opportunity to play in the spacious classrooms in areas NSCC like sand and water play, blocks, housekeeping, library and science. Our programs are developed to support emotional, cognitive, social and physical growth. Play-based learning in such areas as active play, language development, socialization is facilitated through teacher-planned and child-initiated age-appropriate activities. We believe children learn through play. Sarah Dennis is also the parent representative on the Board of Directors. My World of Learning is a non-profit organization administered by a volunteer Board of Directors. More Information on the subsidy program can be obtained by calling the Subsidy Caseworker at 893-6167
