Kids Come First Child Care Centre

I have had a child there for over a year, and overall, I have been happy for the most part. There were times where the communication with staff wasn't 100%, but the staff cared deeply for my child. I never doubted that my child was in safe, capable, loving care. I do have problems with the playground, but I know that it is being updated soon. There are many toys that are broken outside, but I understand they get thrown out when they are in complete disrepair and replaced with "new" toys. There are plenty of toys in the classes and they seem to get switched every once in a while. I find the overall cleanliness pretty good, with teachers ensuring kids wash their hands, as well as their own to prevent germs from spreading. I've also witnessed staff cleaning toys, especially when illnesses are going around. As a parent, I appreciate being informed of possible sicknesses going through the centre, that way I can watch my own children for symptoms. The food I hear has gotten much better sinc e the previous chef has left, with a lot of local and fresh produce being used, which is excellent! Nothing like a local business supporting another. My child is happy with lunch and snacks. The teachers ensure that my child does not go hungry. Overall, I have been happy with my children being in the centre. I am happier now with the new and improved changes that have gone on. I look forward to seeing what happens next! THis place has great potential to be great!

Concered Parent

From what i have gathered the food is discusting! The yogurt is a curdled home made mess. I know my children and many others do not like this. Many times children have informed me that the food cook is not good and they would rather not eat. These are NOT picky eaters! I have also in passing found out that food that is sent to the classrooms are then reused when it is sent back to the kitchen. GROSS! The state of the building is also concerning to many parents I speak with. If you can not keep up a building that is less then three years old, what does that say about the care for your business? The children have no play yard, just dead grass and broken toys. Not mention the falling down fence or the animals living under the sheds! Paint is peeling off of the windows and the stucco has fallen off the side of the building. It just looks junky. And that is just the outside of the building. Inside is a more of the same story, broken toys and clutter everywhere. I see the teachers sitting at the computer more then I see them sitting playing with the children. The play things in the classrooms never change, same toys, same everything! This is a daycare, is there no "toy room" full of toys? Children need different toys and new stimulus to learn and grow. It is very easy to see that the children are board! Please parents DO NOT make the same mistake I did and get taken away with the great front they put up during their tours! And if you have made this mistake too, follow in my footsteps and take your children out! There are many wonderful child care centers in this city, get out there and find them as I did!
