Begining September 2010, Colwell will be offering extended hours to accommodate those families in need of before and after school care. Located in the White's Road and 401 area, Colwell Nursery School and Kindergarten has been providing the Pickering area with unparalleled early years enrichment since 1988. We offer full-day and half-day Nursery School and Kindergarten programmes at both the junior and senior levels, and are well known in the community for excellence in the educational care that we provide to children ages 2 to 5 years. In contrast to many other childcare centres, Colwell Nursery School has a very low rate of staff turnover, and a comparatively high level of skill and expertise in early childhood education. Due to the high quality of staff, the school is able to also include special needs/high needs children among those we serve. We have expertise in teaching children with speech and language delays, learning difficulties, social difficulties, behaviour difficulties, and adjustment difficulties. - At 11 years of age, she is already an accomplished singer and actress, exuding the talent and confidence of a performer well beyond her years. - At 16 years of age, he is the youngest member of the Canadian World Bridge Team, placed among the most talented players in the world. - At 8 years of age, he is already well on his way to building a successful writing career, having recently won Ajax Library Services’ “Quest for Heroes” Short Story Contest. The Colwell staff dress down each Fridays in support of a selected charity. Money collected during the year is donated to charity in need. Colwell Nursery School participates in a toy drive each year to help put presents under trees for families in need. Spaces in our 2010-2011 classes are still available. Registration packages are available in softcopy format on our homepage, as well as in hardcopy format at the school.
