Child Care General

active

Building Blocks Nursery School is entering its 25th year in operation!. Each child is encouraged to move freely from center to center to work on new and different skills. Read our take on the Ontario Provincial Government's decision to lower standards with all day kindergarten. The child's individuality and independence will be nurtured in a loving and kind atmosphere. Our motivation will be to have your child learn to share, cooperate and form trusting relationships with their peers and teachers alike. The philosophy of our program is for each child to be encouraged in their creative, cognitive, and social abilities. Our program consists of different areas with activities that enhance the development of the child's small and gross motor skills, creative, cognitive, sensory and quiet listening skills, as well as dramatic play and free musical expression. Building Blocks Nursery School aims to provide a safe and happy environment for your child

The calibre of staff varied greatly. Some staff, Mrs. Freer, were wonderful, others like Mrs. Sanger were down right rude and offensive. Favourtism was shown in the school and staff, with only an ECE degree thought they were educated well enough to be handing out psychological labels. They had little sensitivity toward children and absolutely no patience with the children...except when parents eyes were around! Once I walked in unexpectedly and was very surprised at how Mrs. Sanger was speaking to a little one trying to learn to read....
