There is never a dull moment at the centre, and it is immensely rewarding to see how much the children learn and absorb from day to day. She believes school should be a place where children feel happy, relaxed and important; a place where friendships are encouraged, self-confidence is fostered, and laughter is heard often. I have two children who are now 9 years and 11 years old and they seem to have grown so fast. Wendy has been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 1971 when she graduated in E.C.E. The majority of her career has been in a parent-run co-operative centre in Ottawa where she began in 1982, initially working with kindergarten children, and later as a preschool teacher and Centre Director. Beth has been with the BLC since 1986 and currently teaches the morning kindergarten program. Her sincere interest and joy in working with children after many years of volunteering with young people through Girl Guides, camp counselling, school volunteer work, and home child care. Therefore, I consider myself fortunate to still be around little ones who add so much to my day. Trainees and Co-op students are hired to ensure that every aspect and each moment of your child's day, for example, getting on and off of buses, pick-up and drop-off times, outside play and lunch times, are safe and supervised. Our independent school with generous outdoor playspace is located on Ogilvie Road, north of Montreal Road, in the beautiful and quiet residential neighbourhood of Beacon Hill North.
